From indoor photo parties to outdoor weddings, capturing memorable moments is a skill any photographer will master. But photographer Joseph always wanted to be interested in optical illusions. So, he found this project, which could add a nice part to his career, as an option not to be missed.

That was when Nina showed him a sweater that was similar to the seat covers of a Brighton bus. Later, they took photos on the bus with a good model and started this mind-blowing photo series. Not stopping there, they formed the Invisible Jumpers series based on different concepts, coming up with more ideas.

The process of photographing them is also a very long one. Joseph takes several days to design the formatting of people or animals or lifeless objects that blend into the background of each image. Nina then takes a few weeks to knit a dress for each concept. However, they work very team up and Joseph knows that even though the location to be photographed has to be eye-catching, it has to be as simple as possible to knit it.

Often, Joseph chooses a location to photograph from places he meets while walking around cities. The engaging models are also the ones who met him on the street and asked for the chance to pose for a photo. And creating a sweater can sometimes be risky. In some cases, the selected locations change or break after a while. Then that creation becomes impossible to capture. Because it takes several weeks to knit a sweater.

Joseph’s favorite invisible in this photo series is the person you see below sitting on the blue and white tiles. Joseph once said. He also says that he likes the challenge of teaming up with Nina, no matter how long it takes. It is because of Nina’s excellent skill to choose models right for the individual places and mix them. However, after creating this fantastic project of theirs, it has now been printed as a book by the Hoxton Mini Press.
