‘Salary Transparent Street’ Talks Openly About How Much People Make On The Job

What is the salary of the job you do?
Okay, I know when I ask you that, you answer with some hesitation, right? It is common for people to feel insecure at times like this, as salaries are often treated as personal information. The reason is that there is an opinion in the society (as a culture) that it is obscene to ask for someone’s salary.

But a group of researchers in a study says they put it that it prevents people from finding a high-pay or well-pay job. While a minority of society is very open and forward about their salary, many are not.

A content creator who openly comments about salaries went viral on social media with a video with a wonderful concept. That is Hannah Williams, and she is a creator of content on TikTok social media.

She started a project called “Salary Transparent Street” and joined in a chat about personal salary with two simple questions in the street. “What do you do? How much do you make? ,” Her two questions. Many people joined her chat. Glad to say most people answered that. Scroll down to see the responses of others in the employed, such as Teachers, Editors, Program Managers, Police officers, Budget Analysts, Architects, Executive Assistants, and Project Coordinators.
And don’t forget to visit her TikTok account and see her future content.

Hannah, a data analyst in the DC metro area, has worked in 5 jobs for over 2.5 years. So she has a good view of personal salary transparency.

She has always been active with her TikTok community, and she has told Bored Panda that they think it’s illegal to talk about salaries. She has also stated that they did not know how to talk about a salary and knew they had a lower salary.

Through this concept, she hopes to show the value of transparency and the benefits that come from having an open chat with everyone. Therefore, she is visiting every capital city across the country and planned to make these open chats. How do you see hearing someone’s salary? Is it something that should not be talk?
